The United Republic of Tanzania and Republic of France on February 23,2023 signed a Bilateral Agreement of Air Services Agreement (BASA), which focused on the aviation industry growth as well as boost tourism and trade between the two nations.
The BASA was signed by the Minister for Works and Transport, Prof Makame Mbarawa, on behalf of Tanzania and the France minister for Foreign trade and Economic attractiveness, Olivier Becht. Vice President Hon. Dr. Philip Mpango witnessed the event.
Speaking during the signing ceremony event, Prof Mbarawa said through BASA it is expected to support the increase of flights movement. it will facilitate the passengers movement and cargo movement.
Tanzania Civil Aviation Authority (TCAA) acting Director General Daniel Malanga said the next step after signing the BASA is for Civil Aviation Authorities of Tanzania and France to coordinate the determination of the date of entry into force.
