TCAA PARTICIPATES IN NATIONAL AND REGIONAL MAY DAY CELEBRATIONS

Singida, Unguja, Dar es Salaam – May 1, 2025:

The Tanzania Civil Aviation Authority (TCAA) marked International Workers’ Day with active participation at the national level in Singida Region, as well as regional events in Kizimkazi, South Unguja, Zanzibar, and Dar es Salaam.


At the national event held in Singida, the Guest of Honour was the President of the United Republic of Tanzania, H.E. Dr. Samia Suluhu Hassan. The celebration was held under the theme: “The 2025 General Election Should Bring Leaders Who Uphold Workers’ Rights and Welfare – Let Us All Participate.”


In her address, President Samia announced a 35 percent increase in the national minimum wage, a move aimed at improving the livelihoods of workers and recognizing their crucial role in national development.


Simultaneously, commemorations were held in Zanzibar, led by the President of Zanzibar and Chairman of the Revolutionary Council, H.E. Dr. Hussein Ali Mwinyi. The event carried the theme: “Workers, Let Us Work with Dedication and Discipline, Demand Our Rights According to the Law, and Participate Peacefully in the General Election.”


In Dar es Salaam Region, the celebrations were officiated by the Regional Commissioner, Mr. Albert Chalamila.


TCAA’s participation in these events highlights its commitment to supporting workers’ rights and celebrating their contribution to the aviation sector and national progress.
