Deputy Minister Kihenzile Commends TCAA for Strategic Aviation Projects

Dodoma, Thursday, June 19, 2025 – Deputy Minister for Transport, Hon. David Mwakiposa Kihenzile (MP), has praised the Tanzania Civil Aviation Authority (TCAA) for its successful implementation of strategic projects aimed at improving aviation infrastructure and service delivery in the country.

Hon. Kihenzile made the remarks on Thursday while visiting the TCAA pavilion at the ongoing Public Service Week exhibitions taking place at Chinangali Park in Dodoma.

During his visit, the Deputy Minister was briefed on the Authority’s core services, including air navigation, aviation safety oversight, and professional training offered through the Civil Aviation Training Centre (CATC).

“I am impressed by the major strides TCAA has made, particularly in enhancing communication systems and the overall quality of aviation services. The government remains committed to supporting the Authority’s efforts to position Tanzania as a leading aviation hub in the East African region,” said Hon. Kihenzile.

He emphasized the value of innovation, professionalism, and modern technology in delivering high-quality services to the public.

Samuel Makalla, TCAA Acting Civil Aviation Manager (CAM) for the Dodoma Station, outlined several key strategic initiatives. These include the installation of four advanced radar systems to strengthen air traffic surveillance, the deployment of modern Very High Frequency (VHF) voice communication systems, the integration of the Aeronautical Information Exchange Model (AIXM), and the construction of modern infrastructure at CATC.

This year’s Public Service Week is being observed under the theme: “Leveraging Digitalization to Enhance Access to Information and Accountability.” The event brings together public institutions—including TCAA—to showcase achievements, innovations, and services that contribute to national development.
