Zambian Aviation Officials Visit TCAA on Benchmarking Mission

Dar es Salaam, July 8, 2025
The Director General of the Tanzania Civil Aviation Authority (TCAA), Mr. Salim Msangi, on Tuesday welcomed a high-level delegation from the Zambia Civil Aviation Authority (ZCAA) at TCAA Headquarters in Banana, Dar es Salaam.

The Zambian team, led by ZCAA Board Member Eng. Alfred Akasiwa and accompanied by Director General Capt. Derrick Luembe and other key stakeholders, is in the country on a benchmarking and knowledge-sharing mission focused on aviation regulation, oversight, and service delivery.

Speaking during the reception, Mr. Msangi underscored the importance of regional collaboration in strengthening civil aviation systems across the continent.

“It is a great honour for us at TCAA to host our colleagues from Zambia. Their visit is a sign that the work we’re doing is not only impactful within our borders but is also being recognized across the region,” said Mr. Msangi.

He added that TCAA is open to sharing its experiences and best practices to help raise regulatory standards and promote aviation safety in Africa.

The delegation is also scheduled to tour the Civil Aviation Training Centre (CATC), where they will explore how Tanzania is leveraging modern training systems and technology to build a skilled aviation workforce.

This visit reflects the growing recognition of TCAA’s operational efficiency and its rising profile as a centre of excellence in civil aviation regulation. It also highlights the commitment by African aviation authorities to work together in improving air transport safety, capacity, and service quality on the continent.

The benchmarking mission is expected to deepen ties between TCAA and ZCAA and contribute to long-term development and sustainability in Africa’s aviation sector.
