The Tanzania Civil Aviation Authority (TCAA) has broadened its nationwide campaign to educate air passengers about their rights and how to exercise them when violated. The initiative undertaken on behalf of the TCAA Director General, Mr. Salim Msangi is now underway at Kilimanjaro International Airport (KIA) after officially commencing on December 11, 2025.
As part of the ongoing activation, travellers are being provided with comprehensive information on their entitlements, the procedures for filing complaints, and the mechanisms the Authority has put in place to resolve grievances.
The campaign is spearheaded by TCAA’s Public Relations Unit in collaboration with the Consumer Complaints Unit (CCU) and the TCAA Consumer Consultative Council (TCAA-CCC).
Running under the theme “Your Ticket, Your Right,” the initiative underscores the role and responsibilities of the Consumer Complaints Unit within TCAA. Passengers are guided through how the unit operates and the steps they should take whenever they believe their rights have been compromised.
Beyond creating awareness, the campaign also offers passengers an opportunity to provide feedback on air transport services in Tanzania input the Authority describes as vital for enhancing service quality and strengthening the overall aviation sector.
The awareness drive was initially launched on November 18, 2025, at Julius Nyerere International Airport (JNIA). The campaign will continue rolling out across additional airports nationwide to ensure all passengers gain a clear understanding of their rights when using air transport services.
