Dar es Salaam, March 17, 2025 – Tanzania is playing host to the five-day Aviation System Block Upgrade Workshop (ASBU) in Dar es Salaam. The event, held at the Ramada Hotel, was officially inaugurated today by Mr. Salim Msangi, Director General of the Tanzania Civil Aviation Authority (TCAA).
The workshop brings together key regional stakeholders to discuss and refine strategies aimed at improving air safety, boosting the efficiency of air transportation, and ensuring the sector’s sustainability through the adoption of modern technology and adherence to international standards.
Mr. Sylvestre Sinarinzi, Principal Air Navigation Services (ANS) at the East African Community Civil Aviation Safety Oversight Agency (EAC-CASSOA), expressed his gratitude to Tanzania for hosting the workshop. He emphasized the critical role of regional collaboration in advancing the aviation sector, stating, “CASSOA is committed to working with all key stakeholders to ensure significant achievements in our aviation sector. We believe that through collaboration, we can enhance both the safety and efficiency of air transport in our region.”
Workshop participant Ms. Enia Kakombu from Zambia also shared her enthusiasm, remarking, “I am extremely happy to be a part of this workshop. I am determined to learn and collaborate with others to ensure we achieve the objectives of this workshop.”
The ASBU 2025 workshop is expected to pave the way for innovative strategies and enhanced cooperation among African nations, setting a robust foundation for the future of air transportation in the region.
