The Tanzania Civil Aviation Authority (TCAA) has begun a nationwide campaign to raise awareness among air travellers about their rights and the procedures for seeking redress when those rights are violated.
The campaign, launched on November 18, 2025, at Julius Nyerere International Airport (JNIA), will later be expanded to other airports across the country.
It is being conducted by TCAA’s Public Relations Unit in partnership with the Consumer Complaints Unit (CCU).
The public education effort is part of the Authority’s commitment to safeguarding passengers as required under its regulatory mandate and implemented on behalf of Director General Salim Msangi.
Operating under the theme “Your Ticket, Your Rights,” the campaign informs travellers about the role of the CCU, how it operates, and the step-by-step process for filing complaints when passengers feel their rights have been infringed.
Passengers are also encouraged to provide feedback on their travel experiences and the quality of air-transport services in the country.
The Consumer Complaints Unit was established under Section 59(7) of the Civil Aviation Act to receive and resolve complaints lodged with the Authority against aviation service providers.
