Minister for Works and Transport Prof.Makame Mbarawa led Tanzanians on receiving a Saudia Airline maiden flight at Julius Nyerere International Airport (JNIA). The event was held on March 26,2023, whereas the 180-seater Airbus A320 with with eight passengers aboard was welcomed with a water salute. Later the Airline left from Dar es Salaam to Jeddah with 61 passengers aboard. The airline will be operating four times a week from King Abdulaziz International Airport, Jeddah to JNIA , Dar es Salaam. Speaking during the event Minister of Works and Transport Prof.Mbarawa said the airline, is set to boost the number of international travellers to Tanzania. Prof.Mbarawa was accompanied by Deputy Minister Foreign Affairs and East African Cooperation Amb. Mbarouk Nassor Mbarouk, Saudi Charge D'Affaires to Tanzania Amb.Fahad Alharbi, Director General Tanzania Civil Aviation Authority (TCAA ), Hamza S. Johari and Director General Tanzania Airports Authority (TAA) , Mussa Mbura.
