MINISTER SIMBACHAWENE PRAISES TCAA FOR PROFESSIONALISM

Dodoma, June 17, 2025 – The Minister of State in the President’s Office – Public Service Management and Good Governance, Hon. George Simbachawene, has praised the Tanzania Civil Aviation Authority (TCAA) for its professionalism and contribution to strengthening the country’s aviation sector.

The Minister made the remarks during his visit to the TCAA pavilion at Chinangali Park in Dodoma, as part of the 2025 Public Service Week exhibition. He officially opened the week-long event and took the opportunity to engage with several government institutions showcasing their services.

While at the TCAA pavilion, the Minister was briefed on the Authority’s key roles, including civil aviation safety oversight, issuing licenses to aviation operators, and maintaining a reliable air navigation communication system through modern Very High Frequency (VHF) voice systems that ensure effective coordination between pilots and air traffic controllers.

He also received updates on key projects being implemented by TCAA, such as the upgrade of VHF voice communication infrastructure and the construction of a modern Civil Aviation Training Centre (CATC), which is expected to become a regional hub for aviation training in East Africa.

“I’m impressed by TCAA’s dedication to its mission and the quality of service it delivers. This is a reflection of what the public service should stand for—efficiency, innovation, and citizen focus,” said Hon. Simbachawene.

This year’s Public Service Week is being held under the theme: “Leveraging Digitalization to Enhance Access to Information and Accountability.” The theme emphasizes the role of modern technology in improving transparency and service delivery across public institutions. TCAA is among the active participants using the platform to showcase its achievements, engage with citizens, and promote awareness of its role in national development.
