PRESIDENT MWINYI VISITS TCAA PAVILION AT MAY DAY EXHIBITION IN KIZIMKAZI, UNGUJA

Kizimkazi, Unguja – May 1, 2025:

The President of Zanzibar and Chairman of the Revolutionary Council, Dr. Hussein Ali Mwinyi, visited the Tanzania Civil Aviation Authority (TCAA) pavilion during the climax of the International Workers’ Day (May Day) exhibitions held at Kizimkazi, Unguja.


During his visits, Dr. Mwinyi received a detailed briefing on TCAA’s core functions and ongoing projects from the Authority’s Board Vice Chairperson, Ms. Mtumwa Ameir. She highlighted TCAA’s role in regulating civil aviation and providing air navigation services, with a strong focus on enhancing safety and operational efficiency in Tanzania’s airspace.


Ms. Ameir also outlined major initiatives being implemented by TCAA, including the upgrade of Very High Frequency (VHF) radio communication systems between air traffic controllers and pilots, as well as the construction of a modern Civil Aviation Training Centre (CATC) aimed at building local capacity in the aviation sector.


President Mwinyi expressed admiration for the Authority’s efforts, commending the innovations and strategic investments being made to strengthen the country’s aviation infrastructure and services.


The May Day exhibition attracted participation from various government institutions and private sector entities, all showcasing their services and contributions to national development.
