Drone Permit Procedures
TANZANIA DRONE PERMIT PROCEDURES
1. Non-Residents:
Any person travelling to Tanzania with a drone must make sure to do all of the following:
- Apply for Import Permit (Without TCAA Import Permit, the drone will be confiscated at the entry point upon arrival)
- Register your drone
- Register the operator (Drone Pilot)
- Apply for Operations Permit
The above applications shall be done by an applicant at least ONE MONTH before coming to Tanzania.
All the applications are done through our online system and to get access an applicant will send the following details to our email (drones@tcaa.go.tz)
- Applicants full name
- Phone number with a country code
- Physical address (Street, City and Country)
- Passport number
- Nationality
- Drone model and purpose of use
- Expected date of arrival
After sending the above detail an applicant will be registered and will receive an email from TCAA with a link, username and password.
Important Notice: There will be NO REFUND of money when an applicant fail to complete all the applications on time
2. Residents
For Tanzania residents there are three categories
- Those who buy drones outside the country
- Those who buy drones inside the country
- Resellers / Suppliers
Those who buy drones outside the country:
- Apply for Import Permit (Without TCAA Import Permit, the drone will be confiscated at the entry point upon arrival)
- Register the drone
- Register the operator (Drone Pilot)
- Apply for Operations Permit
Those who buy drones inside the country:
- Register the drone
- Register the operator (Drone Pilot)
- Apply for Operations Permit
Resellers / Suppliers:
- Apply for Import Permit (Without TCAA Import Permit, the drone will be confiscated at the entry point upon arrival)
All the applications are done through our online system and to get access an applicant will send the following details to our email (drones@tcaa.go.tz)
If the drone is for individual use:
- Applicants full name
- Phone number
- Physical address (Street, District and City)
- NIDA / Passport number
- Drone Model and purpose of use
If the drone is for company / organization use:
- Company / Organization name
- Phone number
- Physical address (Street, District and City)
- Drone model and purpose of use
After sending the above detail an applicant will be registered and will receive an email from TCAA with a link, username and password.
Important notice: If a resident sells a drone to other person he / she must notify the Authority (TCAA)
