Director General of the Tanzania Civil Aviation Authority (TCAA), Dr. Jabiri K. Bakari, has called on staff at the Authority's Zanzibar Station to strengthen their commitment to professionalism, accountability and innovation to enhance institutional performance and service delivery.
Speaking during his visit to the TCAA Zanzibar Station at Abeid Amani Karume International Airport (AAKIA) on June 21, 2026, Dr. Bakari emphasized the importance of adopting a corporate mindset and maintaining high standards of discipline and responsiveness in executing the Authority's responsibilities.
He reminded staff that the nature of TCAA's mandate requires continuous commitment and readiness.
According to Dr. Bakari, earning respect as a regulator depends on competence, professionalism and the ability to provide sound technical leadership.
He further highlighted the growing impact of emerging technologies, particularly drones, which are increasingly transforming sectors such as surveillance, logistics, mapping, inspection and service delivery. He emphasized the need for the Authority to remain prepared through appropriate policies, staff capacity development and technological readiness.
The Director General also underscored the importance of digital transformation, noting that today's information age requires institutions to adopt new ways of learning, working and sharing knowledge.
Dr. Bakari's visit forms part of his ongoing engagement with TCAA stations across the country aimed at strengthening operational effectiveness, improving organizational culture and ensuring the Authority remains responsive to the rapidly evolving aviation environment.
The visit provided an opportunity for staff to engage directly with the Director General and gain valuable insights on the strategic direction of the Authority.
