President John Magufuli has applauded the exemplary work done by Tanzania Civil Aviation Authority (TCAA), saying the authority has performed well.

Dr Magufuli made the remarks after administering the oaths to Ministers and Deputy Ministers at Chamwino State House on 9th December, 2020.

Dr. Magufuli said that, he decided to promote former Ministry of Works, Transport and Communication Permanent Secretary Dr. Leonard Chamuriho to a Minister of Works and Transport following his tremendous job leading Institutions under his Ministry to a continued success, and naming them as Tanzania Civil Aviation Authority (TCAA), Tanzania Railway Corporation(TRC), Tanzania Airports Authority(TAA) and Tanzania Ports Authority(TPA).

President Magufuli specifically mentioned Director General TCAA Hamza S. Johari and commending for Procurement of Radars. Tanzania air space is now covered by radar after installation of four radars at Mwanza, Dar es Salaam (JNIA), Songwe and Kilimanjaro (KIA), a project which costed TZS. 67.3 billion.

Tanzania Civil Aviation Authority (TCAA) is a public institution responsible for overseeing aviation industry in the United Republic of Tanzania. The Authority was established as a corporate body, pursuant to Section 24 of the Civil Aviation Act, Cap 80 of the laws (R.E 2006)
