Tanzania Civil Aviation Authority

The new Tanzania Civil Aviation Authority (TCAA) DG, Mr.  Hamza Johari has called for unity, team work and diligent among Authority's staff for building a sound aviation industry which will contribute to the realisation of mission 2025 of transforming Tanzania to   a middle class nation

In remarks to his first Extended Senior Management Team meeting held in Tanga on Wednesday, .Johari expressed that the government has high expectation in the TCAA in order to build a strong industry for national development.

Consequently, he named the top priorities for enhancing the regulatory function as; the organisation cultural change in unity and team work. "The cultural change will involve every staff including the board members, Said Johari".  To start with the board members are set to attend the management cultural change seminar in Mwanza. The Directorate of Corporate Services has been tasked to prepare programs for other members of staff.

The enhancement of surveillance system is another priority whereby the Authority has planned to buy anew radar in the next financial year. The DG insists that the Authority is determined to enhance the surveillance of the Tanzanian airspace which is also crucial for improvement generation revenue generation.

Improvement of staff remuneration is another area that is on top priority of which the new management is set to improve. He said that he is not comfortable with staff remunerations, It needs to be improved.

Similarly the ESMT delegates were also informed on preparation for the upcoming ICAO audit initially planned to take place in July this year, but the Authority has requested the audit to be moved to July next year to give ample preparation time .
