CERTIFICATION, LICENSING AND REGISTRATION OF AERODROMES IN THE UNITED REPUBLIC OF TANZANIA
This notice serves to inform and remind aerodrome operators in the United Republic of Tanzania on compliance with the aerodrome Certification, Licensing and Registration requirements or any other form of approval or authorization process as may be determined by the Director General in accordance to the Civil Aviation (Aerodromes) Regulations, 2017 as amended;
Regulation 323 of the Civil Aviation (Aerodromes) Regulations, 2017 as amended, prohibit a person to operate an aerodrome without Certificate, License or Registration approval issued by the Authority. Aerodrome operators are reminded that operating an aerodrome without a valid Certificate, License or Registration approval or any form of authorization from the Authority contravenes the regulations and is an offence punishable by law. The Director General shall take appropriate enforcement action including prohibiting the use of all aerodromes without a valid Certificate or License or Registration Approval.
In this respect, all operators of private and public aerodromes are given up to 31 December 2019 to comply to the Licensing, Certification and Registration requirements prescribed in Part III, Part IV and Part V respectively of the Civil Aviation (Aerodromes) Regulations, 2017. To this effect, operators of aerodromes in the United Republic of Tanzania are required to apply for initial or renewal of Certificate or license or registration approval of the aerodromes where the aerodrome Certificate or license or registration approval has not been issued or has expired.
